'The concept was to produce an articulated piece of modular jewellery using recycled materials inspired by studies of mechanical line. I wanted to give an engineered, precision quality to the piece to contrast with its tactile fabric and sensual movement. I laminated the fabric on one side only for durability and textural contrast. The cones are stuck together with double sided carpet tape and then stitched one to another with a simple reef knot using quilting thread. They are strung on lightweight wire to give a good drape and shape.'
