In addition to design drawings for the Indian Court and the Chinese & Japanese Court, the V&A also holds Oriental Court drawings by Jones that seem to be for a proposed 'Alhambra Court', as shown here.
The designs illustrate many motifs taken from Jones's studies of Islamic Spain. For reasons that remain unclear, this scheme was never carried out, but the rooms correspond with the space eventually occupied by the Chinese & Japanese Court. The South Kensington 'Alhambra Court' designs allowed Jones to continue the experiments he had begun when designing the sumptuous Alhambra Court at the Sydenham Crystal Palace.
