This dramatic statuette depicts the great Norse hero Sigurd seated on his fearless horse Greyfell. He holds aloft the golden ring of the Niblungs, which he took from the slain dragon Fafnir. The statuette is an interesting example of Bayes' use of enamelling. He made the bridle and saddlecloth separately and riveted them to the figure.
