From the bagels, furniture and markets of Brick Lane to the infamous occurrences of Vallance Road, Blue Badge guide Rachel Kolsky will help members to discover some of the lesser visited areas of London’s East End. With some famous names along the way, including Mary Hughes and Maria Dickin, the tour will finish at the closed Brady Street Cemetery, where NM Rothschild is buried. This is sure to be a fascinating morning.

On the Members’ preview day of the V&A’s Heatherwick Studio:Designing the Extraordinary exhibition, curator Abraham Thomas will be continuing the celebration of British design. Spanning more than two decades of work, he will explore Heatherwick’s architecture, sculpture, engineering, furniture and product design, revealing the studio’s creative processes and spirit of curiosity.

Members can visit the exhibition as part of the preview day upon presentation of their Membership card.

With records dating back to 1422, Lincoln’s Inn is one of London’s finest Inns of Court. Its fifteenth-century Old Hall and imposing Great Hall are still in use today, and its extensive collection of paintings includes the vast Hogarth canvas Paul Before Felix, which has remained in situ for almost 200 years.

Members are invited on a private tour of these wonderful buildings, followed by tea and coffee.

Designed by the Hungarian-born architect Ernö Goldfinger in 1939 as part of a terrace of three houses, 2 Willow Road was to be his family home and the largest of the three. The modernist concrete building, with continuous windows allowing light to flood in, now displays Goldfinger’s impressive collection of modern art, personal objects and innovative furniture.

It is being opened exclusively after hours to Members, who will enjoy a guided tour following a wine reception and introductory film.
