Virginia Bates opened her renowned antique clothing store,
Virginia, in 1972. Her unique taste and style continues to attract fashion designers, models, stylists and collectors to her beautiful boutique. Join Virginia as she discusses her latest publication Dressed to Kill: Virginia’s Jazz-Age Fashion, which explores the glamorous fashions of the 1920s. Celebrating the highlights of Jazz-Age fashion such as sequined dresses, cocktail wear, opera coats and evening jackets, Virginia will look at the craftsmanship that went into creating such ornamented pieces. She will also discuss how vintage clothes can be styled in contemporary ways to wear today, and her techniques for preserving and caring for fragile items.
