Discussing her new book, Knitting: Fashion, Industry, Craft, Sandy Black, Professor of Fashion and Textile Design and Technology at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, will chart the development of knitting from a domestic handcraft to one of the most sophisticated computer-controlled textile production processes used in fashion. With stunning new photography, the book draws on the V&A’s superlative collection of knitted fashions and artefacts to tell this story.
