Situated on the site of the
Thames Tunnel (the first in the world to be constructed beneath a river), the BrunelMuseum is based in Marc Brunel’s original engine house. Members will explore the cobbled streets of old Rotherhithe, before returning to the museum for a private guided tour of the Grand Entrance and the underground chamber, which are not usually open to the public. With such a fine piece of engineering, there is little question why it is regularly referred to as the “eighth wonder of the world”.
