Background

00/00/0000 - Inspired by an early quilt from the 'Ladies Home Journal' of about 1910. I appliqued irises in blocks, then appliqued more leaves overlapping the seams to give a kaleidoscope effect. Hand quilted in cross hatching to make the flowers stand out. Made for Phyll my mother-in-law who watched me sew it when I visited her but sadly did not see the completed quilt. A lovely way to remember her! .
