Background

00/00/0000 - Inspired by a short story by J.R.R. Tolkien, about the pursuit of perfection and its just reward. Much of the fabric is hand-painted; the central light blue area is exposed batting which is also painted. At the center is a print from an American Elm, on bristol paper, which appears to float unconnected to the rest of the quilt. The quilt is 43 x 67 inches. Made by Eileen Doughty..
