Background

22/10/2009 - Inspired by the Rooks that gather in trees near my home I discovered these roosts can last for hundreds of years. Rooks are communal birds. The idea of their homecoming at dusk inspired the quilt design. Fabric was hand painted and he rooks appliqued on and embroidered. Words are stencilled on the quilt that recall the view of rooks. Made as part of a City and Guilds final quilt challenge..
