Forest My first attempt at curved seam piecing. The colours and shapes reminded me of sunlight through the trees, so I added butterflies and a snake which have been appliqued onto the background. Machine quilted.
Whimsical I wanted to create a quilt that was fun and colourful, and I also wanted to include a tree. Once this was done, I felt it needed something to bring it to life, so added the strange birds. The background is pieced and the tree and birds are appliqued. It is quilted with a variety of machine embroidery stitches.
Spirals This was more of an experiment really, I made a sort of crazy patchwork background, and then appliqued spirals of fabric over the surface. I then had a lot of fun, embellishing with painted dots, and free machine quilting.
