Geese In A Northern Park My Mom and I made this quilt for my nephew's wedding. He and his wife are both pilots living in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada - the great white north! We thought a Flying Geese pattern would be appropriate and we gave it a modern edge. Several meaningful images (to the young couple) are appliqued on the back of the quilt so they appear camouflaged. The images include 2 airplanes, an elephant because the bride is originally from South Africa, a rabbit because they were married in the year of the rabbit, and a polar bear because the groom grew up on a farm by White Bear, Saskatchewan, Canada and because it's symbolic of the part of northern Canada where they now reside. This is the first quilt I've made since one almost 30 years ago. I used the Geese in the Park quilt pattern from the Moda Bakeshop website.
