The narrative for the Battle of Birlunda emerged from my drawings depicting cruelty in the animal
kingdom. I was inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, with its portrayal of ghastly real-life battle that seems almost comedic. Therefore, the scenes of the Battle of Birlunda are also about something cruel and dark but delivered lightly and softly.
