SEN
Special Educational Needs Scheme
In 2008 the Museum worked with two special needs schools to launch its Special Educational Needs Scheme. The scheme strives to ensure that children with special needs gain access to the wealth of learning opportunities available at the Museum - providing every child with an enriching experience equal to that of their mainstream peers.
The Museum has two designated Resource Packs - 'Moving Toys' and 'Clothes' - for visiting SEN groups and also holds regular days exclusively for Special Needs schools, enabling them to visit when the Museum is quieter than usual.
SEN groups can also book a Teaching Session as part of their Special Needs Day visit - Moving Toys (25 minutes) or Puppets (25 minutes). For more information about the Museum's Special Needs Days or to book, email c.bloore@vam.ac.uk or call 020 8983 5210.
