Happy Birthday Miffy
9 December 2006 - 18 March 2007
A retrospective exhibition celebrating the work of Dick Bruna, creator and illustrator of classic picture book character, Miffy. This bright and colourful exhibition included original artwork and screen prints, and was the Museum's first temporary exhibition after reopening in December 2006.
Dick Bruna was born in Utrecht in 1927 and is one of the Netherlands' most celebrated living artists. His worldwide recognition is due to his charming character Miffy, a rabbit drawn in clear, simple lines. Miffy's adventures have appealed to the imaginations of generations of young children. Dick Bruna's picture books have been translated into over 40 languages. His first book, The Apple, was published in 1953.
