Available from spring 2011

Taking the classic children's tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears as its starting point, Sit Down: Seating for Kids poses the question - What makes the perfect seat? Is it comfort? Style? Ease of use?

Sit Down is divided into three themes, each posing a fundamental question - What is a seat?, Who are seats for?, and How are seats made? Featuring over 60 seats made especially for children and spanning over 350 years, the exhibition draws on the V&A's outstanding collection of children's chairs, benches, sofas, bean bags, rocking horses, ride-on toys and potties, including seminal design classics such as the Eames's child's chair, designed in 1945.

The experience is captivating and multi-sensory with images, film and hands-on activities designed for both adult and family audiences.
