Victoria and Albert Museum

The world’s greatest museum of art and design

The Victoria and Albert Museum holds an important collection of eyewear designed and produced by the British firm Oliver Goldsmith. This collection of over 70 frames represents sixty years of eyewear design from the 1930s through the 1980s. This rich resource illustrates the evolution of eyewear from a medical necessity to an item of fashion.
