Power of Making

The V&A and Crafts Council celebrate the role of making in our lives by presenting an eclectic selection of over 100 exquisitely crafted objects, ranging from a life-size crochet bear to a ceramic eye patch, a fine metal flute to dry stone walling. Power of Making is a cabinet of curiosities showing works by both amateurs and leading makers from around the world to present a snapshot of making in our time.

Maker Collective Residency: PostlerFerguson

As part of 2011’s ‘Power of Making’ exhibition, design duo PostlerFerguson became residents at the V&A. While here, they worked on projects for themselves, and with the public. In this film, Martin Postler and Ian Ferguson reflect on their work, the museum and its collections and the actual power of making.

Donate to the Stained Glass Appeal

We are currently working on an exciting project to conserve and re-install the original stained glass on the landings of the Manfred and Lydia Gorvy Lecture Theatre. We need your help to raise £75,000 to bring these historical features back to their former glory for us all to enjoy.
