This display explores Chinese artist and writer Chiang Yee's (1903-1977) creative endeavours through a selection of original illustrations and sketches from the Silent Traveller series and other books as well as designs and archival material which describe his life and work in Britain.
King’s Cross: Regenerating a London Landmark
19 May – 21 October 2012. This display features original drawings, photographs, models, and film footage documenting the work by the lead architects and masterplanners John McAslan + Partners and engineer ARUP to transform London’s King’s Cross Station for Network Rail.

Buddhist pilgrimage sites: China
After the spread of Buddhism in China, pilgrimage became an important part of the devotional practice of monks and lay people. Chinese monks, such as Xuanzang, Faxian and Yijing, travelled from China to India to collect Buddhist scriptures to be translated into Chinese, to visit holy sites and to study in Indian monasteries.
Obituary of Ray Smith
Ray Smith (–1996) began his career at the Victoria & Albert Museum as a Boy Attendant and ended it as Senior Research Assistant (Administration) in the Department of Prints, Drawing and Paintings. In the interim he worked in the Circulation Department, organizing the preparation of countless travelling exhibitions, and in the Textiles Department, where his love for and care of the objects was an inspiration to his staff.
