A pilot study conducted in late 2009 investigated three circulation areas in the V&A - the Grand Entrance, Grand Entrance Steps, and the Sackler Centre reception, to explore how these spaces and the styles of seating provided are used by museum visitors. Conference proceedings: interactive learning in Museums of Art
This major international conference considered whether the interactive interpretation so common in museums of science and technology is appropriate in an art and design context.
Learning & interpretation: evaluation at the V&A
Evaluation is a consultation process. Any concept being developed at the V&A needs to communicate with an audience. That communication is a two-way process, and therefore the project needs to be developed with co-operation of the audience. A project team cannot know everything about the anticipated audience . Evaluation questions assumptions about understandings, attitudes, beliefs, learning processes and audience attraction to the proposed V&A project.
