My title is ‘Albert, I think we need a bigger tree’. It is in response to the fact that Queen Victoria and Prince Albert - after whom the V&A is named - had an exceptionally large family, which consisted of 9 children, 40 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert sit at the bottom of the tree, near the roots, while the branches above with all their relatives represent the growth of their family. The first image is a screen print and the second image shows the preparatory drawing, which was created using dip pen and ink.
