This piece is the culmination of a printmaking turned reportage illustration project looking at 'Boxing Culture'. I gathered research drawings and photos from a local boxing club as well as filming the members box to study the movement behind it.

My main piece, 'The Boxing Gym', is a reduction lino print with four colours measuring 620mm x 320mm. I wanted to get across the atmosphere of the setting; the contrast between the stillness of the gym with the sudden burst of aggressive movement. My prep piece, 'The Boxers' was more an experiment; printed with six separate lino blocks and translucent ink this piece was exploring the movement and flow of the fight. The original measures 210mm 210mm.
