The pressures of garment factory work often lead to stress related illnesses. Worker X talks of panic attacks, depression, headaches and high blood pressure, all brought about by her employer's demands to meet unrealistic production targets. Home workers are often working in unhealthy environments, also with unrealistic targets set by their employers. Workers fear reprisals from employers for talking to trade union officials.
