These three illustrations are a part of a personal brief that aimed to document the rotting process of a single plate of meat and tomatoes by creating a series of sequential images. Every image is a reaction against the colours, texture and smell of my objects and the one different word given as a title is a reflection about them. Inspired by the strong, flat colours and the exaggerated black lines of Emil Nolde, the geometric shapes of Pablo Picasso and the abstract outcomes with the obvious naive outlines of William Scott, I was able to break away from the realistic appearance of food in search for a symbolic meaning.
