Finding & Buying Images

• Copying images from our website

  There are many images on our website especially within the section' Search The Collections'. This contains over 43,000 images including fashion, photographs, and sculpture, and is designed to give visitors easy, fast on-line access to the collections of the V&A .

  These standard web images are sized for quick access, and can be saved for your own non-commercial personal use. To capture the image at standard web sizes, right click on the image itself and print out or save to your computer.

  • You can do this at no cost.

  Obtaining high resolution images for personal use and academic reproduction
  To acquire a reproduction quality version of the image you must register and login to have selected high resolution images delivered to your computer. View Search the Collections here .

  • This service is free of charge.

• V&A Prints

  V&A Prints is the quality Print on Demand service, offering over 3000 images from our collections. These images have been chosen to reflect the richness and diversity of culture, lifestyle and art found at the V&A and are available to purchase for personal use or as a gift.

  Select your image and the size you want and choose from a variety of finishes, canvas - rolled or stretched, fine art or standard papers. Visit www.vandaprints.com and V&A prints will do the rest.

  • This service ranges from £5.00 to £250.00 or more.

• Personal Print Services

  Personal Prints offers a bespoke reproduction service if the image you require is not available via V&A Prints.

  These high quality prints can be created to your personal specifications in terms of size, finish and format. This service normally takes 3 weeks or up to 6 weeks if new photography is required.

• Museum On The Go - Images for Mobile Devices

  Museum On The Go offers downloads of digital museum objects to mobile devices and has a section of its website dedicated to the collections of the V&A. The digital gallery includes more than 100 images from a variety of periods and topics and is available for download to mobile devices in more than 50 countries worldwide. This includes 30 animated videos specially adapted to the size of mobile phone screens to show objects and fashion from the last century.

• V&A Images (Commercial Picture Agency)

  V&A Images is a versatile picture agency focused on providing image services specifically for the commercial sector, including publishers, advertising/design agencies, television/film/video/electronic media companies and organisations looking to license images for commercial use.

  This service is for all commercial sales, including publishing, reproduction purposes and licensing.

Please note that all images on the V&A websites that are not credited to a named person or organisation are wholly owned or licensed by the Victoria and Albert Museum.
