We recommend teachers visit the museum to plan their school trip before bringing students. Visit teachers' resources for a menu of resources that you could use to plan activities as well as general planning guidance. We also offer talks and workshops for schools groups and a professional development programme for teachers.

Getting to the Museum

View information on how to get to the V&A. Schools in the Greater London Area can apply for free public transport when making visits to museums within the GLA. Find out more about the School Party Travel Scheme.

Sackler Centre for arts education at the V&A

On arrival, school groups should come in through the Exhibition Road entrance or use the Tunnel entrance from the Tube. Register at the Information desk in the Sackler Centre for arts education. Please ensure that the lead teacher brings the letter of confirmation that will be sent when the booking is made. You will be shown the location of the lunchroom, cloakroom and toilets. Visitor Services staff will be able to help you with any other information you need including maps of the Museum for your students.
