Giving to the V&A

We are seeking additional income to support the many vital activities that make the V&A a world-class centre of excellence and learning. You can help our programmes that relate to education, acquisitions, conservation, and research. Or you may prefer to donate to our extensive programme of renewal and refurbishment that will transform the Museum, making our collections more exciting and accessible for every visitor.

Tax-effective giving

If you are a UK taxpayer, please Gift Aid your donation (simply tick the box on our donation form or let us know when you donate). This allows us to claim a further 28p from HMRC on every pound you donate at no extra cost to you. For example, if you donate £50, the V&A receives £64. Please make sure you complete the Gift Aid section on the donation form .

UK taxpayers can also give tax-effectively through the Charities Aid Foundation.

Stocks and Shares

You can also give to the V&A while reducing your own tax burden through a gift of stocks and shares. In the budget of April 2000 the Government introduced a significant income tax relief for gifts of quoted shares and securities to charities, in addition to the existing capital gains tax relief.

Donations of objects and in-kind support

The V&A is very grateful to all those generous supporters who give works of art and other important objects to add to our permanent collection. We are also grateful for in-kind donations, services or material support.
