The terracotta figurine of a double-humped camel was acquired at Yotkan. Terracottas from the region of Khotan have been well known since the end of the nineteenth century and beginning of the twentieth century when they were collected by European scholars. The nature and function of these Khotanese terracottas have puzzled scholars for decades.
