Shaping the kokuso fill - 刻苧の成形

While still soft, the kokuso fill was carefully shaped to match the sloping profile of the original tin edging around the Mazarin Chest’s handle plates.

刻苧は乾固しないうちに、堤金具の周りに残っているオリジナルの錫の縁取り部分の曲線を手本にして、ていねいに成形します。
