Finishing the new fill with diluted lacquer - 希釈した漆による充填部の仕上げ

The final step of the process was the application by brush of lacquer (urushi) diluted in solvent to the tin-pigmented shitaji finish. This served to tone down the brightness of the fill and to strengthen its surface.

最終仕上げには錫で着色した下地に溶剤で希釈した漆を筆で塗布します。これにより色調を和らげ、表面を補強します。
