In 1962, a group of designers and advertising art directors working in London joined forces to create a new organisation, British Design & Art Direction (D&AD). Their aim was to raise the profile of creative communication. Over the next 40 years, D&AD would grow in influence and its annual award scheme would become an international barometer of changing trends.

This exhibition shows winning work from the D&AD Awards 1963-2002, rewinding across four decades to chart developments in design and advertising through a wide range of disciplines. Rewind not only demonstrates how radically Britain's communication industry has changed over 40 years from small, tight-knit community to a global brand-driving business. It also shows how design and advertising have become an integral part of the fabric of the world economy - and a vivid cultural reflection of the times in which we live.
Rewind is supported by 02. The exhibition, like 02, shows work that is visionary, bold and adventurous. 02 have added to the visitor experience by demonstrating it's interactivity through technological enhancements such as the 02 Media Messaging Guest Book and the 02 People's Vote.
