Man's Cosmos outfit
Designed by Cardin, Paris, 1967
T.703 to E-1974

From 1960, Cardin broke with traditional tailoring by making collarless suits with open cuffs for men. They were the model for the jackets worn by the early Beatles. By the late 1960s, Cardin proposed a more radical male look, moving towards unisex clothing. Compare this outfit with the Cosmos woman's ensemble.
The woollen jersey tunic is cut in one piece and fastens with a zip at the left front. The jumper is ribbed wool and the boots and belt are made from patent leather. The trousers are tapered and have black elastic foot straps.
