The company Fidelis Furnishing Fabrics was created by J.P. Mavrogordato in the late 1950s. It specialised in producing medium priced abstract designs, both printed and woven, for curtains and loose covers. The designs were purchased from young British designers and produced under the Fidelis label. During the 1960s the firm built a reputation for cutting edge large scale repeats.
