The jacket shows the looser lines and shorter sleeves which were hallmarks of the early 1960s. It fastens at the front with three buttons. The A-line skirt is attached to a boned bodice foundation. It has a back zip fastening.
John Cavanagh trained under Molyneux and Balmain before selling his own designs from his dress shop in Mayfair between 1952 and 1974.
