Culotte dress

Jersey silk culotte dress with 'Nastri' print
Designed by Emilio Pucci, Florence, 1968
T.336-1997

Pucci's trademark is his dramatic, swirling prints. These vivid abstract patterns, outlined in black, fitted in perfectly with the psychedelic mood at the end of the sixties. This maxi-length culotte dress zips up at the centre back.
Emilio Pucci was born into an aristocratic Florentine family. He started to design womenswear after an outfit which he made for himself caught on with the international ski set in 1947. He opened a fashion house in 1950 and signed all his garments with his first name.
