This shoe was intended to be worn with evening dress. It is decorated with diamante studs set into perspex on the toe and heel. Jourdan shoes were famous worldwide from the 1930s. In the 1960s the company enlisted the photographer Guy Bourdin to create the images for their advertising campaign.

Pink satin shoe with glass beads
Designed by Roger Vivier, Paris, 1968
T.224 A -1976

This shoe has a square toe and oval heel and is trimmed with a paste and glass studded band. It was donated to the museum together with a pink evening dress by Norman Hartnell.
