'Tutti frutti' flannel suit

Tutti frutti Two piece grey flannel suit with a white crepe blouse
Designed by Mary Quant, London, 1962
T.104B-1976

The simple design and loose fit of this two-piece outfit is like the classic suits which Chanel designed in the 1930s. Both Chanel and Quant were designing for active women like themselves who needed smart and comfortable clothes to wear to work.
The cardigan-style jacket is trimmed with a piecrust frill and has no front fastening. The skirt has a kick pleat at the back and zips at the hip. The white crepe blouse fastens with buttons at the back and a bow at the neck.
