Designed by Yves Saint Laurent, Paris, Autumn 1965

This dress is made up of contrasting panels of black and cream silk made by the French firm Abraham & Bianchini-Férier. Created for the same collection as Saint Laurent's 'Mondrian' dress, the skirt ends just above the knee. The back fastens in two stages, buttoning in the upper section and zipping to the waist in the lower section.
