Troy Book by John Lydgate
Late 1440s
John Lydgate was a Benedictine monk whose work was very popular in 15th century England. His poem tells the story of the Trojan War and other Greek legends. On the exhibited pages Jason returns with the Golden Fleece to King Cethes (left) and Jason and Medea sail from Colchis (right).
