Arts and Crafts was one of the most far-reaching, influential and popular design movements of modern times, and this is the first major exhibition to explore it from a truly international perspective.

Emerging in Britain in the late nineteenth century, Arts and Crafts was quickly taken up and adapted in America and Europe, until it reached its final manifestation as the Mingei (Folk Crafts) movement in early twentieth century Japan.
