Jointly organised by the V&A and the Decorative Arts Society, this symposium will look at the range of Dresser's work, including his writing. The seven speakers will place Dresser in the context of the wider issues surrounding Victorian design innovation, discussing both his predecessors and the other great 19th century figures in his circle, revealing his lasting legacy. In the Studio, off Room 17 (Renaissance 1400-1600)
Visual artist Karen Logan will be creating her own work at the V&A for a week during the Christopher Dresser exhibition. She will be exploring Dresser's work and the Japanese design which inspired him. During this residency Karen's V&A studio will be open to visitors on three days and her work will be catalogued on this website from mid-October.
