Minton & Co., Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

In 1836 Herbert Minton took over and modernised the company founded in 1796 by his father. He introduced new products and technologies. Colin Minton Campbell succeeded him in 1858.

Dresser's connection with Minton lasted from around 1860 until the 1880s. He made designs and, as art advisor, directed the firm's attention to Chinese and Japanese cloisonné and porcelain, lacquer, bronzes and Islamic metalwares and pottery.
