Royal
Society of Arts
The
Royal Society of Arts was involved in the organisation of
the Great Exhibition from the earliest stages. One of its
main roles had been to raise money.
The
Royal Society of Arts grew as an organisation partly as a
result of its involvement with the Great Exhibition. It offered
Foreign Commissioners full use of the Adelphi rooms (the London
home of the Society) during their visits to London. After
the Great Exhibition, it made the Foreign Commissioners corresponding
members, thereby swelling its membership.
