Arts Council of Great Britain: records, 1928-1997

Series description

Series title: Touring Department: Touring Marketing Files, 1974-1985
Reference: ACGB/101
Extent: 4m 50cm

Scope and content

These files belonged to the department's Marketing Officer, Jodi Myers. They reflect her marketing work with the various companies and venues involved in the Arts Council's touring schemes. There are also files relating to the Contemporary Music Network and Education schemes. In addition to this, there are papers refering to the work and organisation of the regional marketing officers and the Regional Arts Associations.

This series only includes files up until 1985 for reasons of orginal order, since all these were clearly marked as Touring Marketing papers. Later records which relate to this aspect of the department's work were less clearly identified as belonging to a separate class of Marketing files. Rather than intergrating these later files into ACGB/101 and thereby losing the sense of original order, they have been placed in series ACGB/100.

See also ACGB/94 for the marketing leaflets produced for the touring companies and venues during this period.

Arrangement

This series has been sorted into a number of topics which can be requested: venues, Dance, Drama, Opera. The remaining material is miscellaneous.
