| Series title: | Policy and Planning Unit: Regional Arts Boards' Corporate Plans, 1991-1994 | |
| Reference: | ACGB/109 | |
| Extent: | 32 folders |
The Regional Arts Boards (RABs) acted as arts development agencies for their various geographical locations. They were accountable to national funding bodies, such as the Arts Council, for their government funding. In addition to dealing with funding issues, the Boards offered advice, information and consultancy in order to help plan for the arts.
The Policy and Planning Unit inherited responsiblity for managing the Regional Arts Boards from the proceeding regional and planning departments of the Arts Council.
This series contains copies of the RABs' development plans with papers and correspondence relating to their production. From 1993 onwards most of these files are labelled as Corporate Plans, but prior to this a variety of descriptive terms are used; both one year and four year plans are included. The files also contain the Arts Council's assessment of, and reaction to, the plans; for some RABs the Proformas completed by the various ACGB departments, after an initial review of the corporate plan in question, are also included. See ACGB/108 for further details on individual RABs.
