This series consists of the files which were kept by the Literature Department on individuals and organisations. Ordinarily these individuals and organisations were Arts Council clients and the files therefore contain papers relating to the funding they received. This is not always the case, however, and some files concern individuals and organisations with whom the Arts Council had a non-funding relationship.

Access to unpublished material less than 30 years old is subject to the written permission of the Arts Council of England. Apply in the first instance to the Archive of Art and Design at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
