Context

The Training Unit was established by the Arts Council in the mid-1970s. Initially its efforts were restricted to training in the area of arts administration, however by the 1980s it was beginning to expand its activities, offering a far greater choice of training programmes and administering student bursary schemes.

Scope and content

This series contains those files which relate specifically to the Training Unit's responsibility for arts administration training courses. It includes correspondence, student papers, financial papers and policy records.
