Context

During the 1985/86 restructuring of the Arts Council, Combined Arts became a separate unit within the Arts Division. It was disbanded in 1988, with the Multidisciplinary and Arts Centres Committee taking on an advisory role for this area until the formation of a new Combined Arts Unit within the new Arts Development Division during 1991. Sally Stote was the director of the Combined Arts Unit from 1992.

Scope and content

This series contains those papers which were labelled "Sally Stote's Files". The files relate to a number of different subjects, such as the Live Art scheme, the Youth Art Fund, the South Bank Centre and Women in the Arts. There are also files relating to the various art form departments and other issues such as finance, training, external relations and the RABs.
