Series description

Context

These files include the papers of Gerry Kitchen, Margaret Leask, Fleur Selby (successive Dance Touring Officers) and Jenny Slack (Opera Touring Officer).

The files were maintained jointly once Stephen Revell had combined the two areas of responsibility in 1986. He took over from Jenny Slack as Opera Touring Officer and then Dance was added to his responsibilities once Fleur Selby had left her post.

Scope and content

This series consists of files relating to the various dance and opera companies involved in the Arts Council's Touring programmes. There are also files concerning related organisations and groups e.g. the National Opera and Dance Co-ordinating Committees and the Regional Arts Associations. In addition to this there are general files concerning e.g. publicity and funding.
