FREE LECTURE: Itinerant masters - Artistic production at the court of Jahangir
The complexities of Jahangir’s travels across the empire in the early 17th century are revealed in his memoirs. The court set up a vast city of tents each time it halted. It carried out its ceremonial rituals with the same splendour as in the fortified palaces. This lecture explores the role of the master artists and craftsmen who accompanied the emperor in his peripatetic life.
